Show March Of Dimes Chairman For Utah Named The reappointment of Dr. Creed Haymond as Utah state chairman for the 1954 March of Dimes was announced today by the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis. Basil O'Connor, president of the organization, paid the Salt Lake City dentist high tribute for the work he has been doing on behalf of the fight against polio in the state of Utah. "The fight against infantile paralysis is beginning to show definite portents of victory," O'Connor said. "When the great day arrives that we can stamp the word 'conquered' on this crippling disease, much of the credit will go' to Dr. Haymond and other volunteer leaders like him. At great personal sacrifice they are bringing to this struggle strug-gle not only their time and talents, tal-ents, but also an inspiring idealism ideal-ism of service to mankind." This will make the fourth consecutive year for Dr. Haymond Hay-mond to lead the March of Dimes in Utah. As before, he will be called upon to' coordinate coordi-nate the activities of volunteer campaign directors in cities and counties over the entire state during the annual January fund drive. According to Dr. Haymond. Utah this past year contributed a total of $277,438 to the March of Dimes or an average of 40 cents from every person in the state. |
