It's been in the making for more than two years with the separate Val . Verda advisory planning body set up nearly one and one-half years ago. The plan has been devised to cover various phases of development de-velopment and zoning, including: includ-ing: residential land use, commercial com-mercial land use, parks and open space, annexation, transportation trans-portation and public facilities. RECOMMENDATIONS include in-clude largely retaining the preeminent pre-eminent and single family residential re-sidential flavor of the area, minimizing both commercial and multiple residential dwelling dwell-ing development and including exclusion of any manufacturing manufactur-ing zones. A large park and several neighborhood parks are also requested along with more sidewalks and street lighting. Retaining the area's identity is also emphasized although annexation may eventually "gobble up" the unincorporated unincorpo-rated area. : VAL VERDA -- If you're concerned about Val Verda's future master plan, you'd better bet-ter clear your calendar for Thursday night at 7:30. THAT'S WHEN the county planning commission and Val Verda planning board have set a public hearing at South Davis Junior High School. It's set up as a two part meeting: to allow for a presentation of the tentative tenta-tive plan followed by a breakup break-up into seven groups for further furth-er discussion and citizen input. Those groups will correspond corres-pond with the seven Val Ver-da-Redwood planning districts, dis-tricts, each represented by a member on the planning council. FOLLOWING that meeting, the various representatives will take back input and meet again as a group with the "final" "fin-al" proposal to be submitted for Davis County Planning Commission review in the Nov. 4 meeting to be held at the courthouse in Farmington, starting at 5:30 p.m. Depending on their reception recep-tion and possible changes, the county commission will be asked to receive the document sometime after that and set "the formal, public hearing" says Planner Barry Burton, who has worked closely with the Val Verda group as a mem- |
