Show Commercial Bank Of Utah Observed Birthday The Commercial Bank of Utah completed 50 years of service to the citizens of Central Utah on April 3rd of this year. The original orig-inal bank was chartered by the Secretary of State on the 3rd day of April, 1905 as The Commercial Bank of Spanish Fork. Joseph Hanson of Spanish Fork, Utah, is the only surviving organizer or-ganizer of the bank. He has been a member of the Board of Directors Direc-tors of The Commercial Bank of Utah since March 17, 1914, and at the present time is still active as a senior vice-president and a member mem-ber of the Executive Committee. Mr. Hanson was present at a meeting in the Young Men's Coop Co-op building at Spanish Fork when the bank was being "organized. In March, 1914, P. P. Thomas, who is now the president of The Commercial Bank of Utah, was also al-so elected to the board of directors. He has served since that time as an officer of the bank. Mr. Thomas Thom-as states that at the time he began be-gan employment with the bank, there were two employees, a bookkeeper and himself, who supervised su-pervised and carried on the entire en-tire functions of the bank. At the present time The Commercial Bank of Utah employs approximately approxi-mately 70 people. Since Mr. Thomas became associated as-sociated with the bank, the totals have increased from approximately approximate-ly $150,000.00 in total assets to over $20,000,000.00 at the beginning begin-ning of business this year. On Monday afternoon, the employees em-ployees of each office met at a luncheon meeting in commemoration commemor-ation of the anniversary date. The Commercial Bank of Utah now has offices in Spanish Fork, Heber, Nephi, Payson, Roosevelt, Delta and Duchesne, and provides" complete banking service for all of these areas. |
