Show Streets, Wafer, Policing Problems Aired By City Street Project Is Advertised, City Buys Water Three important problems that will affect the future of the City of Roosevelt were considered by the mayor and city council at their last regular meeting, held Monday night. Final sanction of advertising a notice of intention to create a special improvement district to construct curb, gutter and sidewalks side-walks in various parts of the city received the council's approval. The advertisement is found on page ten in this issue of the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Standard, and will appear for four weeks. The second major item receiving the nod of the city dads was authorization au-thorization to sign an escrow agreement for 1.71 sec.-ft. of water wat-er for culinary purposes that will cost the city $14,250. Entering into in-to the agreement with the city for the water that will come from the Uriah-Heep Springs, were Vernon Ver-non Moon of Hanna, and Fred Neumeyer of Lapoint. Source of the water is approximately three miles from the present line northeast north-east of Roosevelt. According to Mayor Paul Murphy, Mur-phy, the escrow agreement calls for the payment of $5,00 to Moon and Neumeyer as soon as they can deliver a clear title to the springs, with $200, plus 3 interest, in-terest, on Jan. 1, 1956, and $200 each year thereafter until the total to-tal amount has been paid. Roose-velt. Meeting with the council, representing the county, were Commissioners Floyd Lamb and Clinton Mickelson, Attorney James Hall and Sheriff Loren Stevenson. The city of Roosevelt offered to have each of their three city marshalls deputized as assistant sheriffs to serve this area of Duchesne Du-chesne county for the sum of $1500 per year, plus payment of mileage of any out of town assignments assign-ments within the Myton, Montwel, Ioka and Neola areas. The county officials were to present the matter mat-ter at a regular meeting of the cimmissioners for approval or rejection. re-jection. Protest Date May 2nd The Notice of Intention as published pub-lished in the Standard, clearly defines de-fines the areas in the city that will be improved, providing the property pro-perty owners do not protest the work.
