Show Job Openings Set For Patrolmen On Utah Highways The Utah Highway Patrol Civil Service Commission has announced an-nounced that open competitive examinations ex-aminations for patrolmen, weigh-men weigh-men and radio operators will be held in the near future, with April j 12 at the closing date for receiving receiv-ing applications. According to a release from the department, entrance salaries for these open positions begin at $275 per month, with an extra $20 per month allowance for uniforms to patrolmen and weighmen. Applicants must be between the ages of 23 and 40 years for pa-1 trolman, 23 and 45 for weighman and 18 and 45 for radio operators. Patrolmen must be not less than 5 feet 10 inches tall in their stocking stock-ing feet, and must be citizens of the United States with good moral mor-al character. Approximately 10 positions for patrolmen are expected to be filled from the register of successful applicants ap-plicants on or after July 1, 1955. It is anticipated at least 24 openings open-ings will occur after July 1 for weighmen, with three very likely at Jensen, where the state is planning plan-ning a new checking station.
