Show Randlett Viola Jensen MIA HAS FUND RAISING PARTY FRIDAY The MIA held a dance, Friday evening to raise money to buy basketball suits for the M Men team. Ralph Taylor announced the following program: Jimmy Nebe-ker Nebe-ker played two harmonica solos and Irene and Joyce Jensen played a piano duet. A delicious lunch was served. Wilson Gutzman. Edgar Ed-gar Jensen and Bishop Durfee furnished fur-nished the music for the dancing. Donations totaling $58.24 were made and an enjoyable time was had by the large crowd attending. The Relief Society held a special spe-cial work meeting Tuesday. The ladies cleaned windows and made quilt blocks. A pot-luck lunch was enjoyed. MIA officers and teachers attending at-tending stake Leadership meeting Wednesday evening in Roosevelt, were: LaRue Pickup, Ethel Durfee, Dur-fee, Lula Dudley, Marion Taylor, Leah Chandler, Carol and Sheldon Shel-don Lewis, Lori Lee Peay and Viola Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jensen and family and Mrs. Carol Lewis and family were Vernal visitors on Wednesday. Morton Chandler went to Salt Lake City to seek employment. Mr. and Mrs. Claud Nebeker and son, Russel, of Fort Duchesne, spent Sunday visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Nebeker. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Young and daughter, Rae, of Vernal, spent Sunday visiting at the John Young home. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Jorgensen and daughter, Mrs. Nina Clark and children went to Salt Lake City to attend conference. A group from here went to Vernal Saturday evening to listen to the broadcast of the conference. confer-ence. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jensen and daughters, Irene and Joyce, visited Sunday in Roosevelt at the home of Mr. Jensen's sister, Mrs. Annie An-nie Bowden. Bert Stoddard spent a few days the fore part of the week in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Aarol Holliday and family, of Duchesne, spent Thursday visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Stoddard. No meetings were held Sunday as there was no coal. Mrs. Donna Pickup attended conference in Salt Lake City. Gilbert Harris went to Vernal, Tuesday to have X-rays taken. A number of students have been absent from the Avalon School with strep throat. |
