Show Myton Band To, Visit Salt Lake Members of the Myton school band will enjoy a treat Thursday. Thurs-day. March 1, when they will make a trip to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah band concert. A special musical attraction will be furnished by Mr. Rafael Mendez, who will appear as guest soloist with the University Univer-sity band. Mr. Mendez is rated as one of the top trumpet soloists solo-ists in the United States. The band will travel in private pri-vate cars, under the supervision of W. Grant Peel, band director. Adults who will drive and accompany ac-company the band will be Mrs. James Bywater, Mrs. W. H. Linck, and Mrs. Earl Gingell, all of Myton; John Zirker, of Arcadia, and Glen VanTassell, of Bridgeland. They will leave at 2:30 p. m. and will return after af-ter the concert. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Lamb entertained en-tertained their bridge club Sunday Sun-day evening. A delicious supper was served to Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lamb, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Linck, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish, Miss Alice Todd and Lee Cooper. Bridge was enjoyed during the evening, with prizes priz-es going to Miss Todd, Mr. Cooper, and Mr. Robinson. Leland Wilde and daughter, Lou Jean, of Park City, visited friends in Myton, Thursday. Mr. I Wilde, principal of the Park City schools, was a member of I the Myton school faculty sev-i sev-i eral years ago, and his many friends enjoyed his brief visit i here. ' Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Dart, of Price, were guests at the O. A. Dart ranch home Thursday and visited Myton friends, enroute to Price that evening. A. S. Horsley, department service ser-vice officer of the American Legion, met with Myton veterans vet-erans Friday, Feb. 23, to assist them and their families in service ser-vice work. Mr. Horsley then proceeded to Roosevelt and Vernal, Ver-nal, where, he met with Legion-aires Legion-aires and service men of that district. He returned through Myton Saturday afternoon, stopping stop-ping for a visit with Mr. and Mrs, James Dalgleish. and reporting re-porting he was enroute to Price, called there by the serious illness ill-ness of his mother. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Giles and family, of Ogden, arrived Friday Fri-day to spend the week-end with relatives and to be present at the birthday party given for Mr. Giles' mother. A. C. Tolboe spent Thursday and Friday in Salt Lake City, attending to business matters. Miss Edith Nell Preece returned re-turned Saturday from a visit in Salt Lake City. She was accompanied ac-companied by Miss Marjorie Burton, of Salt Lake City, who will visit here. Miss Burton was stationed in Japan as a civilian ci-vilian employee during the same period Miss Preece was employed em-ployed in the air service command. com-mand. Weekend visitors at the ranch home of Mr. ', and Mrs. Matt Uresk, Sr. were Mr. and Mrs. John McClellSh, of Salt Lake City, former Myton residents, and Mr: and Mrs. Kenneth Mc-Clellan Mc-Clellan and daughter, of Talma Tal-ma ge. A recent letter from Mrs. Robert Rob-ert Niederhauser, from Manhattan, Manhat-tan, Kansas, brought news to her friends that she was mar- i ried although no particulars! were given as to time and place. Mrs Niederhauser was formerly , Miss Marilyn Meranda. She, made her home here during her : early childhood. |
