In charge of the meeting were F. Robert Paulsen, association president, and Superintendent Dean C. Christensen. Board members present were E. L. Murphy and B. A. Jacoby. Attention was drawn to the fact that Senate Bill 75 has a three-fold purpose namely: (1) To increase the classroom unit; (2) to provide more funds for transportation of school children; chil-dren; and (3) to provide more funds for need of school plants. "Some individuals have implied im-plied that this is only a teachers' teach-ers' salary bill, but with a close consideration this bill may be called a children's bill. After all, our most valuable possessions posses-sions are our children. This bill is set up to try to keep our schools at the same standard they held in 1946-47, and to give our children the chance to meet life with the necessary educational educa-tional equipment," states Mrs. Vola Hancock, vice-president of the Teachers' organization. |
