Show ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL By . Joyce Burr The Roosevelt high students have been very busy preparing an exchange assembly for Uintah. Uin-tah. It is to be a one-act play, a song and dance ensemble and two readings. The cast for the play. "Billy's First Date," includes: Billy McLea, Mc-Lea, as Billy, Teddy, Bob John-stun; John-stun; father, Foy Swain: mother, Janet Stevens: sister Judy. Max-ine Max-ine Hurley: Merna, Melba Benson: Ben-son: her mother, Bertella Swain; Barbara, Nadine Clark: her mother, Janet Kelsey. Student director is Joe Reldhead. The song and dance stars of "Annie Doesn't Live Here Anymore," Any-more," are: neighbor, LaRue Llddell: man who came to call, Treva Ann Gabbert; Annie. Melba Mel-ba Benson: her new beau. Karl Murray. The dancing class is furnishing the various dance numbers. The readings are to be "Jimmy "Jim-my Speaks His Mind." by Dorothy Dor-othy Dean Nixon, and "Let Brotherly Love Continue." by Joyce Burr. Director of the entire assembly assem-bly is Mrs. Norman Murphy. Friday night is our last league basketball game, we hope. We meet Uintah on their floor, and if we win we go to the state tournament. If not. there will be a play-off very shortly, and we still may go to state. Word has been received that the commercial contests for Region Re-gion Five will be held at Price on March 15. Mrs. Bird is hard at work shaping up tye teams, bookkeeping teams and shorthand short-hand teams, year I and year II for the contest. Also on that date will be the speech contests. This includes one-act plays, readings, debate, oratory, extemporaneous speaking speak-ing and radio reading. |
