Show Pioneer of Basin, John Elail, Buried Funeral services were held on Thursday in the Bennett Ward Chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for John Hall, 86-year old Uintah Basin pioneer who was found dead, apparently of natural causes, near his home at Leeton, Uintah County, Monday. Mon-day. Mr. Hall was the sole surviving reservation homesteader, coming to the area in 1906. He was born Sept. 16, 1870 in Yorkshire, North Cumberland, England, to Robert H. and Anna Dent Dent Hall. He married Zela Lee February 2, 1898, in Vernal. He is surviver by his widow; three sons, Edgar of Rangely, Louie of Ouray and Carl of Leeton; Lee-ton; two daughters, Mrs. Fay Hayes and Mrs. Gertrude Viesten-is Viesten-is of Salt Lake City. Burial was in Vernal Memorial Cemetary under the direction of Vernal Mortuary. |
