Show Church Doings The MIA special Interest class enjoyed an evening of fun on Tuesday. All the group were taken on a deer hunt by shooting at a deer drawn on the blackbard. Prizes were won by Mrs. Opal Gomm and Mr. F. Earl Case. Pie and cocoa were served as refreshment. refresh-ment. Upalco MIA boys and girls with their leaders attended MIA in Mt. Emmons ward chapel last week. Mrs. Myra Mitchell assisted Ona Rust in the Junior Gleaner class and Mrs. Marie Roper taught the first year Beehive group. Primary Preparation meeting was held for the month of October at the home of Mrs. -LaVere Timothy. Mrs. Alene- Case presented the lesson, Mrs.: Reah Lambert, Mrs. Fern Powell and Mrs. Norma Hansen Han-sen conducted the remainder of the meeting with the aid of the choral director, Miss Sherry Hartman. Hart-man. x The members of the organist and chorister clases, taught by W. M. Foley of the general music committee of the church, will have their final review examination at the Mt. Emmons ward chapel on Oct. 9. Members of the Mt. Emmons ward who drove to Vernal to listen to the special broadcast of the Priesthood meeting were Rondo Ron-do Harmon, Willard B. Mecham, Ray Hamberg, Glen Mohlman and Len Wall. Mrs. Lyle Young made the trip to Salt Lake City to attend the Conference. Ann Young spent several day's with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Smith of Bridgeland. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Mecham of Roosevelt had Sunday dinner with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Le-Grand Le-Grand Mecham of Altamont. Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Rust and family visited during the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Reynolds and family visited Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Jenny Reynolds. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Harmon of Provo called on Mr. and Mrs. Rondo Harmon and family Sunday afternoon. Alan is Rondo's brother. broth-er. Rex Casper of Oakley, uncle of Mrs. Louise Bearden, and his brother, Frank Casper, of Salt Lake City visited Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bearden Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Crosby, with their granddaughter, Sheryl Evans, and other chilldren of their daughter, May Mecham, motored to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Crozier to partake of a birthday dinner in honor of Mr. Crosby. Mr. and Mrs. Bernell Buchanan were in Roosevelt Sunday to visit his brother and family and to see the new Buchanan twins. Friday Mr. and Mrs. Bernel! Buchanan and family and James Lindsay of Mtn. Home made a trip to Salt Lake City to the Pdiesthood meeting of the LDS conference. Many Altamont and Mt. Emmons Em-mons people attended the conference confer-ence in Salt Lake City, among fhem were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gomm, Mr. and Mrs. William Evans and Mr. and Mrs. Willard B. Mecham. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Corbin and boys of Vernal were at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Farnsworth Sunday The occasion oc-casion was the birthday dinner of Miss Lulu Farnsworth of Salt Lake City who was also home for the weekend. Other Sunday visitors at the Farnsworth home were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Farnsworth and son 6f Duchesne. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Young were feted at the home of her parents in Bridgeland, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Smith. The occasion was Mr. Young's birthday. Present Pres-ent also for the celebration were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Smith and family of Orem, brother of Alma. Owena Ann and Carol Goodrich visited at the home of their aunt, Mrs. Johnny Lambert, while their mother, Lois Goodrich, attend the Relief Society and general conference confer-ence in Salt Lake City.
