Show Tank Truck Kills Seven Dairy Gattle A Salt Lake-bound gasoline truck struck part of a herd of dairy cattle cat-tle near Ballard Monday, killing four instantly and crippling three others to the extent they had to be destroyed. The cattle and calves, owned by Ollie Rasmussen, were being driven driv-en by Cecil (Doc) Jenkins and Dee Allred. They came on the road just as the truck approached. Its driver swung the rig over to the left but could not avoid hitting the animals, Patrolman Sam Hatch said. The Rasmussens said the cattle included several head of purebred stock and estimated the minimum value at $700. Patrolman Hatch said the accident acci-dent was apparently unavoidable and no citations were issued. |
