Show Whiterocks and ! Ft. Duchesne News (Mrs. Esther Odekirk) After spending a thirty day furlough with his brothers, Verl and Ross Iorg and sister, Mrs. Frank Griffen, S-Sgt. Chas Iorg has returned to his base at Santa Ana, California. Dave Etter and Mr. Brashier of the Indian Service Construction Construc-tion Division of Salt Lake City and Ernest Sallee, Land and Field agent, were official visitors at Fort Duchesne this week. Josephine Cauelell is a new staff member of the agency. Mrs. Jasper Porter and son, Jimmie, were Thursday guests of Mrs. Ed Faulkner. Mary Diane Odekirk spent the week end at Fort Duchesne as the guest of Miss Janet Gilstrap. A. F. C. Greene was taken suddenly ill Sunday and was rushed to a Salt Lake hospital. Mrs. Arvil Hoops entertained Tuesday at a chicken dinner,, with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Atwood, Mrs. Pearl Wooley, Ed Simmons, Jim Harvey, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hoopes, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Twitchell and Mrs. Loren Pike as guests. i Mr. and Mrs. Leland Moose-man Moose-man and Mrs. J. H. Mooseman were visitors at Price this week. Laurence Phillips was rushed to the Valley hospital in Vernal this week where he underwent an emergency appendectomy. Latest reports are that he is getting get-ting along very well. Mr. O. B. Fry and son, Bill, were Salt Lake visitors last week end. They were accompanied by Illo Pidgeon. Robert Marimon was in Salt Lake last week end on school board business. The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Benton Ridley died Sunday at the home of his parents in Farm-creek, Farm-creek, i Mervin Mart, two and one half year-old son of Laura Mart was drowned in the Duchesne river while playing at the home of his uncle, Louie Apparas. Frank Chamberlin and son, Doss, were Vernal visitors Saturday. Satur-day. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mclntyre returned home Thursday from Salt Lake. Mr. Mc Intyrc was recently re-cently discharged from the army. They will spend a few days visiting visit-ing at the home of their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Wong C. Wing; after which they will leave for Denver, to visit Mr. Mc Intyrc's parents. Cpl. Gene Howell, after spending spend-ing three years with the Army Air Corps was recently discharged discharg-ed and is now at the home of his mother, Mrs. Lloyd Howell. N First Leiutenant Lloyd Howell returned to Germany last week after spending a 43-day leave with his mother, Mrs. Lloyd Howell, Sr., at Ft. Duchesne. Lt. Howell is in the 39th Infantry Division of the 9th Army of occupation oc-cupation stationed in Germany. Mrs. Laurence Odekirk and son, Richard, were dinner guests Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Faulkner. The Boy Scouts of Fort Duchesne Du-chesne met at the home of Neil Domgaard at Gusher Thursday. The Red Cross benefit party given by the Women's Club of Fort Duchesne was a big success. |
