Show ALTONAH (Mrs. Ethel Beebe) Emmctt Clark went to Salt Lake city where he will receive medical treatment at the Veterans Vet-erans Hospital. A number of Altonah people attended the dairy improvement program meeting at Altamont Monday night. Mrs. Jean Fisher and son returned re-turned from Salt Lake City Monday Mon-day night. Her sister, Mrs. La-vear La-vear Timothy, accompanied her. Mr. and Mrs. Lavear Timothy are. planning to move back to, Altonah Al-tonah in the near future. Chase Watterson took his son, Cleon to Price Tuesday for medical med-ical care. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Guenon and Mr. and Mrs. John Jenkins of Leadvilie, Colorado attended the funeral services for Lon Dump. Mrs. George Berrett returned re-turned with Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Guenon to Leadvilie for a few weeks visit. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Davis and son, Cal and daughter, Tillie, and Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Davis of Salt Lake City spent a few days in Altonah during the week. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Barker and daughter have returned from Wells, Nevada, where they have been employed for some time. Phylis Allred, was able to return re-turn from the Roosevelt hospital Monday. Phylis was operated on for appendicitis February 23. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Stevens and daughter, Wanda, of Orem attended the funeral services for Mr. Dump Monday. Mrs. Ethel Beebe was released as secretary-treasurer of the Altonah Al-tonah Ward Relief Society Sunday Sun-day in sacrament meeting. Mrs. Etta Berrett was sustained in her place. George Hallet of Duchesne attended at-tended the funeral services of Lon Dump on Monday. George Mecham returned home last week after spending the winter visiting in Helper and in Salt Lake City. Mrs. May Browning and son, Lee, of Salt Lake City arrived Tuesday to be with her mother, Mrs. Olive Beebe, who is very ill. Sherriff Dewey Merriwether of Duchesne was in town on business bus-iness Friday. Mrs. George Berrett and Mrs. Lee Jessen were hostesses at a shower given in the Ward Hall Friday afternoon honoring Mr. and Mrs. Dick Jessen. Many beautiful gifts were received by the young couple. Mrs. Clinton Bowden made a trip to Salt Lake City to spend a few day with her father, who is seriously ill, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Beebe, who are serving a mission in Texas were called home Wednesday Wednes-day by the illness of Mr. Beebe's mother, Mrs. Olive Beebe. Arthur Timothy, who has been with the Navy serving in the Pacific received his discharge. He returned home during the week. Mrs. Ruth Feitkau and Med Allred spent a few days last week visiting with their brother, Bert, and his family in Grand Junction, Junc-tion, Colorado. President E. L. Murphy, of Upalco, Wm. Brotherson of Ben-eta, Ben-eta, Leon Burton of Talmage, Earl Case of Mt. Emmons and Grant Foote of Salt Lake City were speakers and visitors at sacrament meeting Sunday. |
