Show Seed Growers Plan EYSyton Meeting The future of the alfalfa hay and alfalfa seed industry depends inxm the success of new varieties of seed and in dusting the crop to insure the setting of seed, advises Marden Broadbent, county agent. In looking toward the future of the hay and seed industry there has been 800 pounds of foundation Ranger seed brought into . the county this year, said Mr. Broadbent. This is being distributed dis-tributed to farmers who can qual-ifv qual-ifv for certified seed production. This variety is resistant to many of the killing diseases we now have in this area and should prove a real boon to the progress of alfalfa crops that will stay in the rotation much longer, Mr. Broadbent continued. All farmers are invited to attend at-tend a meeting at the? Myton L. D. S. Ward house, Monday evening even-ing at 8: P. M. Professor A. F. Bracken and Dr. John W. Carlson Carl-son from the U S A C at Logan will be present and discuss new varieties of alfalfa, methods of seeding for seed production and principally to give information regarding dusting alfalfa with D. D. T. and other insecticides to give further assurance of harvesting harvest-ing a crop of seed. Everyone in the seed industry should be present at the seed growers meeting in Myton, the county agent said. |
