Show LAPOINT (Mrs. George Bigelow) i Mr. and Mrs. Junius Goodrich and family of Sandy were visit- I ors in Lapoint during the week. A shower was held in the La-point La-point Chapel Monday afternoon in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Kay Winn. A delicious lunch was i served and a program presented. A wedding dance was also held in the evening. Mrs. Winn was formerly LaDonna Cobb, daugh- 1 tcr of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cobb of Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Lcland Terry were visitors In Salt Lake City and Bountiful last week. Merrill Rasmussen and daughter, Clat-hella Clat-hella returned home with them. The Rasmussens were former residents of Lapoint and have been employed in Ogden for the past three years. They plan to move back to Lapoint soon. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Work- ' man have sold their home in , Wellington to Mrs. Workman's brother. Earl Jenkins. The Work-1 : man's have bought a ranch in i Whiterocks canyon and will be I moving here soon. I Mr. and Mrs. Mart Davis of( Glendale, California are visiting Mr. Davis' mother, Mrs. Annie Morcos and his brother, Ray, who has been in the Roosevelt, hospital as a result of a car-wreck. car-wreck. Mrs. Lula Tanner of Cedar j City is here visiting her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Irva Ilubcr, and family. She will also visit with her son, Jay Fillerup, at Jensen. Mrs. Opal Perry and children of Portland, Oregon are here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Foster. vveston justice ana lamny oi i Ogden were here during the , week visiting relatives and friends. They were former residents resi-dents of Lapoint. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Anderson of Manti were visitors in Lapoint during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Wallace Sackrell of Vernal were in Lapoint La-point on Monday on 4-II club work. Mrs. Sackrell was the former Melba Vickers and is Uintah county home food demonstrator. demon-strator. Mrs. Elmer Caldwell returned home during the week from the ! Valley Hospital at Vernal where ; she has been receiving treatment 1 ; for a mastoid. ' Lyle Taylor, son of Mr. and ! Mrs. Chas. Taylor, Jr., won the ! speaking contest for Duchesne J and Uintah Co. He is a member j of the Future Farmers of Amcr- ica and is a Senior in the Altcrra High School. His subject was, ! "The Basis of Our Existance." He goes to Salt Lake City to the ; try outs. ; Sherman Taylor of Meeker ; Colorado flew to Lapoint on Sun- ! day to visit his mother, Mrs. Ro- ! xa Taylor. He had to land at the Tridell field. ; Mrs. L. J, Walker and sons, ; Leo and Elroy, were in Salt Lake City during the week. Leo has ! signed up for three more years ! in the navy and is on his way to California to report for duly. Elroy El-roy has received his discharge. I Mrs. Annie Stoker of Salt Lake City and Otto Stoker and family of Bigham were week end visitors visit-ors here. They were former residents resid-ents of Lapoint. Mr .and Mrs. Arthur Powell and Mr. and Mrs. Ruland Ras-musscn Ras-musscn and son. Donald, were visitors in Salt Lake City during the week. Donald had to report back to duty after a 45 day furlough. Alvin Week, L Caldwell, Sarah Sar-ah Richardson, Hilda Williams, Belle Angus, Harvey Hullinger. all of Vernal were visitors at Sunday School last week. Mr. and Mrs Elroy Wilkins Jr and family of Roosevelt visited Mrs. Wilkins parents. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Biglow, on Sunday. Mrs. Maray Taylor of Ogden is here visiting her daughter, Mrs. Jessie Neumyer, and family. Don and Willis Neumyer of Ogden Og-den visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neumyer, over the week end. Mrs. Pearl Prcece entertainer! at her home Sunday in honor of Dennis' 6th birthday. Howard H'lrit was sustained Sunday as 2nd counsler in the Sunday school superintrndency. He takes the place of Adrian Kump who has been appointed ward clerk.
