Horace Allred spent a few days in Salt Lake last week on business. Mrs. Elmer Richman spent last week end visiting in Kays-ville Kays-ville with her parents. Mrs. Floyd Bryce and children chil-dren of Salt Lake City are spending spend-ing the week at the Bennie Schmiett home. Mrs. B. Costuros of the Cos-j twos 5c and 10c store, spent a few days last week in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Karl Burgess of Salt Lake City is visiting in Roosevelt Roose-velt this week with her father, John E. Wiscombe. Maxine Knoble of Salt Lake has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Seeley for a couple of weeks, returned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Young of Bridgeland left Tuesday for Denver where they will attend the Stock Show. They will be gone about a week. Mrs. Ercil Bingham was operated oper-ated on in a hospital at Price on Friday for gall stones. Mrs. Bingham Bing-ham is in very serious condition but by the last report she was improving. Mrs. M. J. Edwards, who has been in the Roosevelt Hospital for the past week receiving treatment, was taken to her home Wedensday, a little improved. Mrs. G. M. Romney of Salt Lake City, visited with her sis-1 ters, Mrs. Wm. H. Ruppel and Mrs. George H. Harrison this week. She returned to her home today, Thursday. John C. Redmond, houseman at the Roosevelt Commerical club, has been ill of pneumonia for the past few days. His condition con-dition has improved very little. X. Bellon is assisting in his place at the club. Mrs. Margaret Tusler arrived here last week from Camp Bowie, Bow-ie, Texas, where she has been with her husband, to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Ferron. Sgt. Tusler has now been sent to port of embajrcation. Mrs. Theo. Phillips left Wednesday Wed-nesday for Ogden where she will spend a few days with her J daughter, Mrs. Mark McGuire. 1 Mr. McGuire has been inducted in the U S service and left last week. The McGuires have three children. Mrs. Ann Einerson and daughter, daugh-ter, Lorna, who have been living liv-ing in Spanish Fork, Utah, returned re-turned to Roosevelt last week where they will make their home and Lorna will finish her Senior year at the Roosevelt High school. Mrs. George E. Stewart and two daughters, Mary Ellen and RaNee left Friday for California Californ-ia where they will make their home while Mr. Stewart is in the U S army. Mrs. Stewart was a former employee at the J. C. Penney store. Mrs. Ray Stockstill, the former form-er Miss Eliza Warthen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Warthen, arrived here last Thursday from Vero Beach, Florida, where she has been with her husband who is stationed there with the U S Marines. Mrs. Stockstill served in the Women's Marine Corp for some time before her marriage. Max Johnson who has been employed in Salt Lake City the past while is visiting relatives and friends here this week before be-fore joining the Merchant Marines. Mar-ines. Max was formerly in this branch of service from which he receive a medical discharge last fall. He spent two months in the hospital at Treasure Island recovering re-covering from a tropical fever. I Neighborhood Sewing Club The members met at the home of Mrs. Art Allen Wednesday evening. ev-ening. A lovely luncheon was served, after which the evening was spent sewing. Those present included Mrs. Voyne Walker, Mrs. Stanley Hall, Mrs. Harold Gardner, Mrs. George Abplanalp Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. J. S. Rawlings, Mrs. Howard Andrews, An-drews, LcRuc Allred and the hostess. |
