Show TWO IN SERVICE J Max Odekirk entered the army in September, 1943, finished finish-ed his basic training at Camp Fannin, Texas in February, 19-44, 19-44, from there he was sent to Fort Ord, California and left for overseas in March, 1944. He has been in New Guinea, Netherland East Indies and Phillipines. Word was just received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Odekirk of Ft. Duchesne, that he was wounded in the battle of Leyte and was taken by plane back to Netherlands East Indies and is there in a hospital. He is reported to be getting along fine but will be out of action for some time. His only regret now is that he can't be with his division divi-sion as they carry on. BEVERLEY ODEKIRK Pvt. Beverley Odekirk enter- ed the Air Wac's in May, 1944, took her basic training at Des Moines, Iowa and is now at the Army Airbase in San Bernardino, Bernard-ino, California. Both she and Max graduated from the Roosevelt Roose-velt High school in the year 1943. |
