Mr. and Mrs. John Zirker, Jr. and two children Bonnie and Roaald left Saturday morning for Ocean Side, California to visit their son, Lt. Kenneth Zirker. Zir-ker. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Murray and family of Mt. Emmons were visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Shields Wednesday. Pfc. Charles Mathews of Up-alco Up-alco who has returned from 18 months in the Pacific was visiting visit-ing Lt. Ralph Shields Wednesday Wednes-day evening. The Relief society met at the church house Tuesday and quilted quilt-ed two quilts. Mrs. Hattie Horrocks is recovering recov-ering from a recent sick spell. Pvt. Delmar Ross surprised his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Row with a telegram from Camp Lannin, Texas. The young couple received many lovely present Refreshments were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Leandrew Gilbert and Mrs. Ora Holgate. x Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Neilson of Bridgeland were visiting at the home of Mrs. Henna Shields Thursday evening. Elden Thompson has returned to whore he is herding sheep for Mr. Murdock, after visiting Wednesday Wed-nesday and Thursday with his family. Mrs. Rose Gilbert served din-I din-I ner Thursday evening to Lt. and Mrs. Ralph Shields, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Ross, Mr. and Mrs. Wanless S. Shields, Mrs. Vernal Neilson, Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Shields and daughter Leona, Thomas M. Gilbert and Mrs. Eliza J. Gilbert. Mrs. Emma Sagers and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Raymond of Duchesne, Du-chesne, Mrs. Venice Purdy and Kenneth Neilson of Bridgeland, Mr. and Mrs. Less Ore of Mt. Emmons were present at the party and dance given for Lt. Ralph Shields Wednesday night. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. .Murray and Mrs. Wallace Murray of Bluebell were Arcadia visitors Friday. Calling on Ralph Shields Thursday were John Jennings and Olga Solomonson and Mrs. Helen Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jo-seph Neilson and Mrs. Venice Purdy. Mrs. Rogers who is at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Wil-liam Gallyer is quite ill at the present time. Wanless Shields, Miss Norma Shields and Miss Betty Ruth Thompson left Friday morning to take Lt Ralph Shields and family back to Spanish Fork. They will also visit relatives in Tooele. Mrs, Max Ross and Mrs. Stanley Stan-ley Ross were Roosevelt visitors this week. A lumber meeting was held at the Ward hall to determine who wanted lumber out of Sours canyon. Mrs. Barbara Gilbert of Roosevelt spent the week end in Arcadia. Leandrew Gilbert and Bishop Hale Holgate were attending to business in Duchesne Thursday. |
