M: Somewhere in the archives of Bountiful Drug co-owners Cal Christensen and Frank Delost is a photograph of the store, with a brand new Ford truck parked in front of it. The truck is a 1910 model, mod-el, reflecting the success of the store founded at least 75 years ago. TODAY, Bountiful Drug, still located lo-cated on the corner of Main Street and Center Street in Bountiful, maintains the homey atmosphere and personality of times gone by. The soda fountain, where you can still get a Coke for a dime, has served for many years as the gathering place of Bountiful businessmen busi-nessmen and residents alike. It's fixtures remain undaunted by spaceage technology, and its relaxed re-laxed pace gives customers a break from the daily routine. Cal and Frank both got involved with the business in the 50' s, Cal joining the staff in 1951 and Frank in 1957. Twelve years ago, they bought the business and run it as a partnership today. THE EMPHASIS remains on the prescription business, with many local doctors having a "hotline" into the store to request pharmaceuticals. phar-maceuticals. But the store also offers greeting cards, cosmetics, magazines, and a monthly "super special bargain" sales item. Cal and Frank also operate the pharmacy of the South Davis Medical Clinic in Bountiful, furthering furth-ering their efforts to serve the residents resi-dents of the community with professional pro-fessional pharmaceutical service. |
