Show 1 1 I FAI1YIEW I I By Special Correspondence 1 Funeral Services Held Saturday For Mrs. Emily Lasson Moore Funeral services for Mrs. Emily Lasson Moore, formerly of Fair-view, Fair-view, who died Monday at her home in Denver, were held Saturday Satur-day in the Fairview South ward chapel with Matiland Graham conducting. Prelude, a violin solo, by H. A. Dean. The first song was rendered ren-dered by the choir. James T. Peterson offered the invocation. Florine Anderson sang, "The Lord's Prayer," with Le Nila Young accompanist. Peter Sund-wall Sund-wall was the first speaker. Prof. H. A. Dean played a violin solo, with Le Nila Young accompanist. Burns Cox was the second speaker. speak-er. Closing remarks were made by Maitland Graham. The closing clos-ing song, "Shall We Meet Be-yound Be-yound The River," was sung by the two ward choirs combined. Newell Cox offered the benediction. benedic-tion. Postlude, a violin solo was played by Prof. H. A. Dean. The graveside prayer was offered by Lionel L. Peterson. Burial was in the Fairview cemetery under the direction of the Jacobs Mor-turay. Mor-turay. Surviving Mrs. Moore is her husband, James C. Moore of Denver, Den-ver, Colorado ana the following sisters: Mrs. Clista Peterson, Fairview; ' Mrs. Selma Fahring, Helper; Mrs. Agnes Irvin, Monterey Monte-rey Park, Calif.; Mrs. Nellie All-red All-red and Mrs. Cleone Graham, Salt Lake City. Miss Afton Rigby, who is attending at-tending the A. C. College at Lo gan, is home for a few days between be-tween the spring and winter quarters. She is visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Rigby. Miss Rigby, who is majoring ma-joring in Home Economics, was recently made a member of the Lamba Delta Sigma fraternity. Bishop and Mrs. Golden Carls-ton Carls-ton announce the arrival of a baby girl, born March 26th. Mr. Jesse Young of Provo and N'eldon Young of Magna spent the week end in Fairview visiting visit-ing relatives and friends. Phil Hurst, Kline Larsen and Elwood Stewart killed a lion Monday in the North Fork of Oak Creek. This makes a total of seven lions bagged this past I winter. Betty Jensen, who is attending the B. Y. U. at Provo visited last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Jensen. Allen Bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Bell, was released from the Navy March 23, 1946. Allen entered en-tered the Navy October 9, 1942. He received his training at Far-ragutt, Far-ragutt, Idaho, and sailed in February, Feb-ruary, 1943 for the Pacific theater thea-ter of activities. He served as fireman on a destroyer and was overseas for sixteen months. He is authorized to wear the Pacific Theater ribbon with five battle stars and the Presidential cita- J tion. Cpl. Lloyd D. Larsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Larsen. I was released March 7, 1916 from -the Army. Cpl. Larsen attended the Universities of Mississippi : Ohio. He went overseas October 1. 1944 and served in France and Gcrmanv as an Engineer with j the 2827th Engineer (C) Battal-I ion. Mr. Larsen is authorized to : wear the European theater rib- ! bon with two battle stars, Good : Conduct Medal, American thea- 1 ter ribbon and Victory ribbon. Mr, and Mrs. Eugene Thomas were guests last week end at the home of Mrs. Thomas' sister, Mrs. Lena Phearson in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Phearson entertained Saturday Satur-day at a luncheon for her sisters and sisters-in-law. Those present pres-ent were Mrs. Phearson, s mother, moth-er, Mrs. Mable Sorenson and the following sisters-in-law, and sisters, sis-ters, Mrs. Beth sorenson, Wylis Sorenson, Ruby Sorenson, all" of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Ina Nugent Nu-gent and Mrs. Carol Gardener of Long Beach, California and Mrs. Violet Thomas of Faiview. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Thomas this week is Mr. Thomas' mother, Mrs. George Thomas of Pasadena, Pasa-dena, California and Mrs. Carol Gardener and two children of Long Beach, California. Mrs. Gardener was formerly Carol Sorenson Sor-enson of this city. |
