Show England Gets Bananas The food situation in Great Britain can be better understood by reading that the first consignment con-signment of post-war bananas reached London the other day. The shipment will be distributed distrib-uted to children under eighteen years of age, with each child being be-ing allowed one pound. We call attention to this item because not many Americans appreciate ap-preciate the extent of the food shortages in the British Isles at the present time, of the sacrifices that the British must make to share food supplies with starving populations. |
