The Army today announced an opp;: extension of the current volun- starc tary enlistment program to include in-clude a long list ' of urgently , is needed specialists. Army veterans vet-erans with sufficient military sa" training and experience in any one of 378 listed specialist classifications, classi-fications, may now be enlisted in the Army in the grade for which they qualify by reason of H0Kl length of prior military service in their technical field. The new program applies to to) all Army veterans discharged since May 12, 1945. It continues in effect in its present form until July 1, 1946. rr., Under former directives, enlist - ? 'j ment in grade was limited to veterans who made applications , ii for reenlistment within three months from date of discharge. The effect of the new extension is to extend to veterans who have been out of service longer than the three month period, the opportunity to re-enlist in a u relative higher grade, depending upon the military specialty and , the length of prior service in that specialty.
