Show John L. Carlson Is Home On Leave From U. S. Navy John L. Carlson, Mo. M. M. lie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Carlson, is home on leave from the U. S. Naval Air Station at Jacksonville, Florida. His wife, the former Loel Hansen of Salt Lake City, and small daughter accompany him. They have been with him in Florida the past fourteen months. He has served in the U. S. Navy for the past four years and has just re-enlisted for two years. He is the wearer of the American theater ribbon, the African-European-Middle East theater ribbon with five battle stars, the purple heart medal, good conduct medal and the Victory ribbon. Heparticipated in landings in North Africa, Licata, Sicily, Salerno, Saler-no, Italy, and Anzio, Italy, also Southern France. He was Injured In-jured when the ship, on which he served, struck an under water mine at Anzio, Italy. He received medical aid at the evacuation hospital on the Anzio beachhead beach-head and was later transferred to a station hospital at Naples, Italy. At the termination of his leave he will return with his wife and daughter to Jacksonville, Florida for further duty. |
