Show Employers And Laborers Are Invited To Use USES Office Both employers and individuals individu-als seeking employment are invited in-vited to utilize the resources of the United States Employment Service, Jay W. Oldroyd, Manager Man-ager of the Manti Local Office of the United States Employment Service, reported today. The office of-fice was established primarily for the purpose of bringing Sanpete San-pete County's unemployed people peo-ple and her employers together. If the office is used as a clearing house for both jobs and job openings, open-ings, it should be of considerable value to both the employer and the individual seeking employment. employ-ment. More than 600 people are listed with the Manti USES Office as unemployed. Approximately 70 per cent of these are veterans. While many of these people will automatically become employed as soon as the weather permits farm work to be done on a full scale, many will still remain unemployed. Nearly all veterans returning from the Armed Forces register with the United States Employment Service. In order to discharge its responsibilities to the returned veteran and to the other people in the community the Manti Office announces the following policies. They are also the policies of the United States Employment Service in its nation-wide job development program. pro-gram. 1. To make the services of the local office available to all employers em-ployers except those for whom other agencies are authorized by law to provide employment service. serv-ice. 2. To provide impartial placement place-ment service to all employers except ex-cept when the public interest requires re-quires preference in service to certain employers as during e-mergencies e-mergencies resulting from war or reconversion or community disasters such as floods or fire. 3. To promote the employment employ-ment of all applicants on the basis of qualifications essential to job performances within legal standards and in accord with good employment practices. 4. To remain impartial in disputes dis-putes between employer and worker. 5. To refrain from interpreting laws affecting employment or assuming any responsibility for their enforcement. I Mr. Oldroyd invites the assistance assis-tance and cooperation of all local community groups and organizations organi-zations in helping to carry out an effective employment program in Sanpete County. |
