Show i People Urged To Prevent Accidents - Committee Appointed To Premete Safety Drivinj Dan Becksted of the Utah Safe- (ty Coucil was in Mt. Pleasant Wednesday and assisted in ap-( ap-( pointing a committee to promote care and safety in driving and ultimately reducing accidents on the highways. The committee is as follows: Chief of Police, Harold Frandsen, chairman; Justice of The Peace, J. Ben Staker, secretary; with Abe Burton, Policeman; Merril Hatch, Junior Chamber of Commerce; Mayor John Gunderson, J. Seymour Sey-mour Jensen, Principal of North Sanpete High School, as mem- bers. y It is planned to have the streets 4 in the hazardous parts of the J city marked for the pedestrian lanes so that people may cross the streets in safety. Caution markers will be placed wherever it is deemed advisable. Everyone will be expected to observed ob-served the ruls, or be taken into account for their carelessness. There will be a movement on to strive to improve the driving, as well as care of pedestrians in crossing the streets. The burden of responsibility will be placed equally upon the driver and the pedestrian to ser that no accidents occur. Let everybody cooperate, before be-fore some serious accident comes to our community. |
