Show Plans Maturing for the 13th Annual Strawberry Day At a meeting of the Executive -Committee of the Chamber of Commerce Com-merce held Wednesday evening, more definite plans were made for the thriteenth annual Strawberry Day. This yearly celebration will include band parade, miniature parade, concessions, con-cessions, merry-go-round, ferris wheel, serving of free berries, entertaining enter-taining programs at City park, rodeo at ball park and many new features. The selection of a Strawberry Queen is under way. The following committees have the celebration in charge and are working work-ing hard on the various features for the enjoyment of the thousands of visitors. Each year from 10 to 20 thousand people visit our city and enjoy themselves in this first outdoor out-door festival of the year. Several hundred cases of berries are given away to visitors after the parade. This thirteenth annual affair promises to equal if not surpass any of the previous ones. The committees commit-tees are: Strawberry Queen H. P. Jones, George L. Smith. Advertising Earl Loader and Boyd Nelson. Concessions Albert E. Cooper and J. R. Halliday. Free Berries J. M. Macfarlane, Jr., other members to be selected. Rodeo Erving Johnson, Reed Peterson, C. R. Clark, J. LeRoy Thome, Basil Walker. Parade V. A. Cullimore, H. P. Jones, M. S. Christiansen, Arminta Hayes, Lola Bullock, Mrs. Marlyn Dittmore and Bertha Gray, a new theme, new in every respect. Decorating Committee Dan E. Adams, J. Kemp, Ray Frampton, Hans Williamson, S. A. Kirk, assisted assist-ed by Mountain States Telephone Co. and Utah Power & Light Co. Entertainment Committee E. A. Beck, Rulon Brimhall and Arlan Bastain. The ball park and rodeo grounds ihave been' put into shape for the rodeo and other attractions. |
