Show Mr. and Mrs. Heber Cutler of Salt Lake City spent Sunday here visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Varney. The Utah Power & Light interior lighting contest was won by the American Fork branch. In celebration celebra-tion of the occasion employes of the local office entertained employes of the Lehi and Pleasant Grove offices ai a dinner at me Grant notei ana a dance at the Legion hall last Thursday evening. An automobile accident occurred at the intersection of Main and Center streets Tuesday when a truck driven eastbound along Main street collided with a passenger car. James Gray, driver of -the truck, made a left hand turn off Main street and was struck by the passenger pas-senger car which was traveling toward to-ward S'alt Lake City. The impact turned both cars completely around. Joseph Teasdale was driving the sedan. se-dan. Other occupants of the car were Mrs. Joseph Teasdale, Mrs. Thomas Groneman and Master Teasdale, all of Provo. None were seriously injured. The truck is the property of the Utah-Idaho Sugar company. The American Fork Camp of the D. U. P. met last Thursday afternoon after-noon at the home of Captain Lo-venia Lo-venia C. Booth. The program included in-cluded the opening song, "Sunshine in the Soul" and prayer by Mrs. Emma C. Smith. The lesson was given by Second Vice Captain Mrs. Ada Barratt entitled "Under Territorial Terri-torial Government" followed by the singing of "Our Mountain Home So Dear." The history of Phoebe Davis Chipman was read by a granddaughter, granddaugh-ter, Blanch Tattersoll, after which Miss Donna Cleghorn rendered two accordian solos. The closing song was "O Ye Mountains High." Benediction Bene-diction was pronounced by Mrs. Maud D. Christensen. Tasty refreshments re-freshments were served by the hostess host-ess late in the afternoon. |
