Taylor of Canada spent Thursday evening here visiting his brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Glen L. Taylor. Air. Taylor is field manager for the Canadian Sugar Company. Mrs. L. H. Anderson and daughters daugh-ters entertained at a bridal shower Wednesday afternoon in honor of Mrs. Jay Anderson. Games were played and refreshments were served serv-ed late in the afternoon to the 20 ladies present. The bride received many useful and beautiful gifts. Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Anderson of Ogden spent Sunday visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Spratley. Mr. and Mrs. Moral W. Steele enjoyed en-joyed a dinner party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Walters of Provo, Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Gaisford entertained en-tertained twenty friends Saturday evening at their home. After an evening spent playing " progressive "500" a delicious lunch was served. High score prizes were won by Mrs. Earl Sorenson and Mrs. Guy Darling and the traveling prize went to Mrs. George Pierce. Consolation award went to Mrs. Victor Gaisford. J Mrs. Ralph W. Davis of Lehi spent the week-end here visiting at the home of her mother, Mrs. Jennie (Cunningham. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Gailey and family and Ora Kelly of Idaho Falls, Idaho, spent Sunday morning visiting visit-ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Nicholes. Mrs. Gailey and Miss Kelly are daughters of Heber and Calvin Kelly, former residents of this city. Mrs. Parley Austin entertained at a delightful dinner Sunday afternoon after-noon at her home. The First ward officers and teachers teach-ers of the Primary' association entertained en-tertained Monday evening in honor of three outgoing officers. Mrs. Eleanor Grant, Mrs. Editli Brown nnd Mrs. June Wright. The social was held at the Bromley Club rooms. A delicious lunch was served after which the remainder of the evening was spent playing games. The honored hon-ored guests were presented with n token of remembrance by the officers offi-cers and teachers. From all sides is the cry that the Old Folks Day which occurred on Wednesday for this year was the best and the biggest in years, and that the dance at night was a "screaming" success. It is beyond a doubt the largest crowd that has ever turned out to the Old Folks i dance. l Mrs. Wayne Taylor and son returned re-turned to their home in Oakland. The Officers and Teachers of the Third ward Primary held their monthly preparation meeting at the home of Mrs. Thelma Faddis Monthly Mon-thly evening. The evening was spent in the discussion of the coming May festival and other business concerning concern-ing the primary work. Late in the evening refreshments were served by the hostess, Mrs. Faddis. McNiell gave a talk on legislature; legisla-ture; a reading by Jena Vee Beck followed by n duet by Maurine Spar-ford Spar-ford and Edith RIchins. Mrs. Jack Iverson gave a reading on "How Utah was Admitted to the Union". A report of the district .convention was given by Mrs. Murray Mur-dock. Mur-dock. Arrangements were made for the entertaining of all city officials on Wednesday, January 19th. Following Fol-lowing the program the remainder of the evening was .spent plavlng "Bunco" with high score prizes going go-ing to Mrs. Will Strong and Mrs. Warren Clark of Alpine. A dainty Mrs. E. Ray Gardner attended the musical featuring Luther King, eminent tenor vocalist, with his wife as his accompanist, at Provo Monday Mon-day evening. This program was one of the numbers of the B. Y; U. Lyceum Ly-ceum course. Messrs Robert and Gill Thornton and Gill's son, Blaine, all of Idaho, were visitors here Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Nicholes. Nich-oles. Robert Thornton is a son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholes.
