Show Basketball Proceeds Goes to Local Scout Fund All proceeds from the M Men basketball carnival to be staged on Wednesday, January 26th, in the High School Gymnasium will go to the boy scout budget to make up the extra $50.00 allotment assessed against the Alpine Stake this year. The wards of the stake fixed the scout budget early and when an extra ex-tra $50.00 allotment was asked for the task of raising it was placed on the shoulders of the American Fork Lions Club. Not having a treasury that could stand the assessment the clVib committee worked out a plan with the M Men to stage a basketball basket-ball carnival in which six stake teams will contest, together with a comic game between the fats and leans (Lineups not yet announced.) To stimulate ticket sales to this carnival a prize of $5.00 is to be awarded to the ward which has the most tickets at the performance. There are five colors of tickets, one color being sold in each of the wards and the other in Alpine and Highland. Tickets are being sold at 25 cents for adults and 10 cents for Junior High students and younger. It is expected that over $50.00 will be raised and every cent except the prize money of $5.00 and ticket cost is to be turned to the scouts. |
