The Celtics were again led by Brown with 14 points, and Johnston with 12 points, as they beat the smaller but scrappy Pacer team. 1G big first quarter points were just too much for the younger Pacer team to overcome. Ash led the Bullets to a convincing victory over the Suns with the top offensive output of the day with 18 big points. The Suns were led by Preece's 12 points. The Suns found their shooting eye in a big fourth quarter rally, but fell short of catching the fast-starting Bullets. The Spurs overcame a slow first quarter by having big second and third quarters to beat a very good Laker team, 29 to 24. The Spurs were led with a total team effort as seven players were in the scoring column. The Jazz were unable to derail the Cougars from their undefeated season as they fell to the Cougars, 45 to 26. Flinder with 13 points, and Olsen with 8 led the Cougars. The Sonics were able to beat a very much improved Bucks team, 34 to 26. The 26 points represents the highest offensive output by the expansion team that has shown steady improvement. The Sonics were led by a united team effort with seven players in the scoring column. The Spirits beat the bard luck Knicks, 42 to 27. Mosher led a very good offensive show with 14 points. They are in contention for first place, with all seven of the players on their team in the scoring column, also. The highlights in the games on this coming Saturday will see the Suns try and climb back into contention as they meet the Jazz in Division II big game, while the Lakers and Spirits will battle for second place.
