Show Elysium Club lists quarterly report Hadfield demonstrated how she taught pre-school children, up to and including adults, how to memorize word by word complete pact's of magazines or Ixoks. She then placed numerous groceries on the table before those attending and asked them to observe the groceries. She removed tin: groceries and challenged each person to write in order by memory the groceries that she had previously displayed. Mrs. Hadfield concluded her demonstration on memory by having a sixty-digit number written on the blackboard. She turned her hack to the blackboard and without referring once to the number she repeated the sixty-digit number. She then repeated the number backward completely correct, demonstrating the great power of the mind and memory when trained. Fresh fruit cup and tasty sweet breads were prepared by Judy Allen and Darla Smith and served to over fifty members and their guests. The beautiful home of Annette Oyler was the scene of our November Club meeting. Guest Speaker Ted Ix'wis enlightened club members on the subject of Hypnosis. He gave the mechanics of Hypnotism and told how it has benefited many people health-wise. Mr. lewis concluded by hypnotising as a group all those in attendance. Jody Kelly and Mary Davis prepared and served the delicious refreshments. Mrs. Ixniise Murdock held the I )ecember Elysium Club meeting at her uniquely and festivally decorated home. A musical program presented by Bonnie Christensen and Laurie Holdaway entertained club members as the two played their respective guitars and sang in harmony, Christmas melodies and originally written songs. Enticing games were played which club members enjoyed competing wits with one another. Christmas gifts were exchanged and each member thrilled as they opened their respective gifts. Festive refreshments were prepared and served by Norma Ovard, Geniel Wilberg, and Ixjuise Murdock. For the Elysium Club project this year, members are selling the round table tops. All monies collected from the sale of the table tops is donated to a community project. The tops are $15 and can be folded for easy storage. Mrs. Merrill Osmond invited Elysium Club members to her lovely home in September to commence the Elysium Club year. Club President, Kathy Smith conducted the meeting. A video of the Osmond Brothers from their youth to their present famous positions was presented by Mrs. Osmond, after which she thrilled the club members with a travelog of some of the tours and trips she had accompanied her famous husband on. Souveniers and precious possessions from around the world were displayed and discussed by Mrs. Osmond as she told her experiences of different countries of the world. At the conclusion of Mrs. Osmond's exciting and informative presentation, our club program chairman, . Madalyn Backlund with Janet Wells as co-chairman presented the Club Theme and ' program for the year. Our program theme for the year as presented by Mrs. Backlund is "I followed a -Rainbow to its end and found not gold but you my friend." A club member will be featured each club meeting. Mrs. Backlund commenced this activity by presenting a short history of herself and family. Delicious taco salads were prepared by the executive committee and served to the club members. The October meeting was guest evening and all club members with their guests were greatly enlightened with the program presented by Mrs: Debra Hadfield who spoke on memory. Mrs. |
