He also cleaned the ditch to help with the water run-off this spring. Eric has earned a total of 31 merit badges. Pleasant Grove Jr. High. His hobbies are all our door sports. As a matter of fact he would rather be outside than in. Eric is an avid swimmer, having swam for the Pleasant Grove Swim Team for several years. Eric is currently serving as patrol leader, and has held the possition of secretary of his Deacons Quorum. He is also involved with the Order Of The Arrow. For his Eagle project he constructed a bridge across a ditch Eagle awards have been presented to John Allen, Boyd Porter, Troy E. Larsen, and Eric Phillips in a Court of Honor held recently in the Pleasant Grove Stake. John Allen John, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Allen, is the only boy in his family, the only one to bring home the Eagle Award. John is a responsible young man who is interested in people and their problems. He is friendly and helpful to people. He is lots of fun and has a sense of humor. He has had a lot of fun performing and plays in groups. He has an eye for beauty and chose an Eagle project that had to be worked on, planned and carried out until it was done just right and passed the standard he had set. He made a welcome sign for the city of Pleasant Grove. John has great dreams and plans for the future with many character traits worked on and developed in the scouting program. Boyd Porter Boyd Porter took his place in the Porter family Dec. 28, 1969 and has been a welcome and interesting ac lition to a family of one sister ana one brother. He was born at the Utah Valley Hospital, a son of Frank and Virginia Porter, shortly after the family moved to Orem. Boyd and his family belong to the Community Presbyterian Church in American Fork where Boyd takes an active part in his Youth Group and also helps with Sunday Services occasionally. Boyd joined the Fifth Ward Scout Troop as a cub with his mother, Virginia, and bvelyn Walters as Den Leaders. He progressed to Webeloes with Gary Clay and on into the Blazer B group with Brother Paul Maxfield. Boyd especially enjoys camping and hiking - always adding a few interesting incidents. His interests turn to all types of mechanics and engineering. He loves all sports, too. Boyd has worked hard to gain his Eagle - his camping badge slowed him up as his father is a truck driver and the family does very little camping. Thanks to the Fifth Ward Scout leaders, he finally made it this past suffimer, Troy E. Larsen Troy Erral Larsen was born March 20, 1969 to Alva and Colleen Larsen of Pleasant Grove. Troy belongs to Scout Troop 162 in Pleasant Grove Fifth Ward. His Scout leaders were Paul Maxfield and Daryl Harper. Troy enjoys fishing, hunting, camping, and all sports. He likes swimming and snowmobiling. He enjoys working with dogs. He has been Deacons Quorum president and is presently second counselor in the Teachers Quroum. He has been on the honor roll at Pleasant Grove Jr. High. Troy is the youngest of six children. His two older brothers are also Eagle Scouts. His Eagle project was painting lines at the Pleasant Grove High School parking lot. It was a service to students and public who use the facility. Goals in the future include high school graduation, trade school in welding, and a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints. Eric Phillips Eric Phillips was born August 26, 1970 in American Fork to Phil and Cheree Phillips. He is the fifth child of the Phillip's. He is the third son to receive the rank of Eagle.
