Show Alpine Area Chamber Orchestra 'Messiah' rehearsals Saturday The Alpine Area Chamber Orchestra has just completed this season's first successful performance at the Pleasant Grove Musical Variety Benefit last Oct. 13 and 15. The orchestra is now rehearsing for its annual concert of Handel's "Messiah". Rehearsals are every Saturday morning from 8:30 until 10 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove High School Band Room. Mr. Leon Honey, orchestra conductor, invites all string players interested in performing this inspirational work with the orchestra to join at this time. He comments there is still room for first and second violins, violas, cellos, and bass. "This is an excellent work for string instruments," Mr. Honey says, "and the orchestra is seeking to build its membership." No registration fee or pre-audition pre-audition is required to join the chamber orchestra. The orchestra's purpose is to encourage Utah County and other local residents to use their musical talents as well as to learn an appreciation for great musical works. For the patrons of the Alpine Chamber Orchestra, the "Messiah" is scheduled to be performed in the auditorium of the Pleasant Grove High School Sunday, Dec. 11. |
