Show Police search for LaCasita robber Pleasant Grove police detectives are looking for a male Mexican adult following an armed robbery Friday evening at the LaCasita Restaurant at 426 E. State Road in which an undisclosed amount of money was taken. Lt. Tom Paul said employees of the restaurant described the man as being about 5'8", clean cut and about 20 years of age. He came into the establishment at about 10:30 p.m., it was reported. A waitress asked the man if he was there to pick up an order. He replied that he was, the officer said, and so he was directed to the counter. Officer Paul stated the man then gave the hostess a dollar bill and asked for quarters in change. When she opened the till the man pulled a gun from a paper bag and asked her for all the money, Lt. Paul said. The amount taken was not disclosed by the police department. Witnesses said that the man walked out the front door of the restaurant and ran north down State Street on the west side of the road. Although the restaurant had a number of customers at the time, no one reportedly was aware that the robbery was taking place, Lt. Paul explained. No one was hurt in the incident. The gun was reported to be a 357 magnum. The police department is continuing the investigation of the robbery. Officer Cody Cullimore took the original call on the theft. |
