Show Church Supports Prayer Day The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has issued the . following statement in support of President Reagan's recent proclamation pro-clamation of May 6, 1982, as National Day of Prayer: . M ' "In recognition of our constant need for )il divine guidance, we . commend to all the proclamation of the President of the United States to observe Thursday, May 6, 1982, as National Day of Prayer. We encourage all people everywhere on that day - and every day - to join in grateful, prayerful acknowledgement acknowledge-ment of God's divine majesty, wisdom, and goodness. "We need to kneel before the Lord daily, to thank him for our well-being and for his blessing of all mankind. "We plead . with . parents to call upon the ? Lord in daily prayer with their families, to seek His inspiration in all they do." The statement was issued by President Spencer W.
