Show Candidates to Take Oath Candidates who won seats in Summit County government govern-ment will be sworn into office Tuesday, Jan. 4 during ceremonies scheduled for 10 a.m. at the county courthouse court-house in Coalville. The oaths of office will be administered by Summit County Commissioner Gerald Young of Coalville who, according to County 1 Clerk Reed Pace will be "the only one with any authority" that morning. With the exception of Young, terms of office for . all other county officials will have expired at midnight December 31. Commissioner Young's term of office will not expire for another two years. Democratic commissioners-elect Ron Perry of Summit Park and Cliff' Blonquist of Coalville will take office that day replacing Bill Walling and Carl Ovard respei ively. Bob Williams of Hoytsville will re Dlace Donna Frost as treasurer and Fred Eley of Park City will assume the duties of sheriff now admin-' admin-' istered by Ron Robinson. Alan Spriggs will assume the recorder's office now held by his mother, Wanda Spriggs, while Reed Pace, Leo Frazier and Bob Adkins will be given additional four-year terms as clerk, assessor and attorney respectively. Also scheduled to receive the oath of office Tuesday is Justice of the Peace Jim Kilby. After Kilby is sworn in, he will then most likely administer the oath to Park City Fire District Commis-, Commis-, sioner-elect Jim White. Young does not have the authority to swear in White, according to Reed Pace, so the new fire commissioner will have to wait until another government official, either Pace or Kilby, is . empowered to administer the i! oath. j- |
