Show Buses Get Heaviest Ridership of All Time According to figures released re-leased by City Hall almost 17,000 people rode the municipal bus between Dec. 20 and 26". The record number of riders reflect the busiest Christmas week ever in Park City. Park City Transit Director Kay Draper sa4 the heavy demand has not "let up one bit", and adds she has been out driving herself to keep the service on schedule. All six of the new 31 passenger coaches purchased purchas-ed last summer have now arrived and according to Draper are now in service. The buses were purchased with a matching federal grant. Park City's share of the cost was 20 percent. Additionally, printed bus schedules with color-coded routes and timetables have arrived and are being circu-' lated around town. Surprisingly, there have been no complaints about the transit system this year, a marked turn about from last season, when irate calls to city hall were a daily, if not hourly, occurrence. |
