Show i Questions and Worry Did you ever notice how many people start the new year, and we mean the very first minute, drunk as skunks? We wonder why. And did you ever notice how easily ve forget all the stupi things we did the year before, instead of benefitting from ou: mistakes and not repeating them? More food for thought. If you could turn back the clock and do something differently than it was done the first time, what would it be? Ponder it. Ah, 1982, such a year. There is one thing to look at on Main Street that will make you realize that mistakes are made all the time. It's the pillars on the Silver Queen building at Main and Heber. All our 1983 left turns off Main Street and into the years beyond will be thrillers because of the guessing game one must play about oncoming traffic. So that's only one mistake, but we had to get it off our chests. What about the new year? Are we all just going to sit here and let things happen just like 1982? Can we make a difference in America? Is there really hope that the economy won't totally cave? What about the problems of mankind? How can we help? Can we resolve to get along better with our peers anc co-workers, our families, friends and politicians? Will we turn at least one enemy into a friend? All these questions have valid reasons for being on out minds at the beginning of the new year. i But none; none, we say, really can be acted upon until we settle the first question of all: where are we going to go and what the hell are we going to do New Year's Eve? Here's hoping you have lined up some fine times and here's hoping all your drinks taste great. Stay out of your car and laugh a lot. The best way to approach it, we think is to worry about 1983 beginning Jan. 2. - JH . |
