We met our daughter Mary and friends at Havasu and took in another chili cook-off there. Sunday night we went on to Phoenix to daughter Christine's home, where we stayed for two weeks. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary on April 2, visited with daughter June and family, had a picnic on Saturday with 20 of us together. June and her two boys and Chad and Cherah, two of Christine's children, came home with us. Daughter Kay flew down and she t and her son also came back with us. We had a real nice trip, taking the scenic route up the river to Parker and Havasu where we saw the London Bridge, then on to Bullhead City, where we took the river boats over to Laughlin, Nevada and lunched at the Riverside Casino-Hotel. Casino-Hotel. We thought Laughlin was our own special place, but in Sunday's Tribune travel section there was quite a story on it about the growth in the short time we have known of it. We came on to Payson and stayed overnight at Kay's home, arriving back home to very little snow and very surprising warm weather. It was 94 when we left Phoenix and 104 at Havasu. It was nice to get away, but as always, is nice to be back home. . The 31st annual Park City Ladies Luncheon will be held May 4 at 1 p.m. at the Holiday Inn. As always we will honor ladies 80 and over. Make your reservations now (please see Club News). |
