Show Auto burglars run rampant in Park City Automobile burglars continue to have a field day in Park City. During the past week the Park City Police Department took no less than 10 reports from visitors and residents who had items stolen from their cars. On April 16 Larry Sawyer reported that his car was burglarized at his residence on Little Kate Road. Listed as missing from his unlocked Subaru are one pair of prescription Vuarnet sunglasses valued at $100 and eight cassette tapes worth $40. Also on April 16, Don Gomes called Park City police to report that his 1985 Bronco was burglarized during the previous night while it was parked at his little Kate Road residence. Listed as missing from the unlocked vehicle are 10 cassette tapes, a carrying case, sunglasses and a Snoopy telephone with a broken arm. The good are valued at $270. A Jackson Hole, Wyoming woman, Barbara Hill, reported on April 16 that someone broke into her 1980 Subaru while it was parked at the Mine Camp Condominiums. . About 15 cassette tapes were stolen. They are valued at $80. The car was unlocked. Melanie Parks reported an auto burglary on April 16. According to her report, someone entered her 1985 Subaru on Woodside Avenue during the previous night. Thieves were unable to remove the stereo cassette player, but did get away with a stereo booster worth $100. Damage to the stereo is put at $50. On April 15, Scott Olson reported the driver's side window of his 1983 Toyota Landcruiser was smashed while parked at the Park City Resort Center parking lot. Nothing was taken, but damage is listed at $100. Mike Gale reported an auto burglary on April 15. He told police that while his car was parked at the underground parking at the Old Towne Shoppes on Main Street some one smashed the window on the passenger side of his 1984 Ford EXP and removed his wallet. No cash was contained in the wallet. Also on April 15, Marjorie Weaver reported that the passenger side window was broken out of her car while it was parked in the underground parking of the Three Kings Condominiums. Her wallet was stolen. The contents were not listed in the report. Mark Oliver told police he recovered his stolen 1968 Volkswagen Volks-wagen squareback on April 15. The vehicle had been taken from the Snow Country Condominiums. He found the car in a nearby private garage. It had been hot-wired. Suzanne Victor called police on April 14 to report that someone had stolen her coat and $400 from her purse while she was at the Park Meadows Racquet Club the previous evening. On April 13, Gary Goodrick reported that someone had entered his residence on Lowell Avenue through a bedroom window. The I. thief got away with hand tools valued at $233. Charles Harris reported an automobile auto-mobile burglary on April 13. According to the report, the vehicle was entered while it was parked at the New Claim Condominiums. Reported as missing is a wallet containing $119 in cash and two pairs of sunglasses. The car was not locked. Pam Jensen of Midway told police someone forced open the sliding glass window in her pickup truck while it was parked at the Resort Center. Listed as missing is a handgun and other goods totaling $247. On April 16, Tim Mertens called the Park City Police Department to report the theft of five signs from Food For Thought at the Resort Center and Mountain Savior at the top of the Prospector chairlift. The signs are worth $400. In addition, this week the Park City Police Department made two DUI arrests. |
