Show Tap your toes to the Tempo Timers The Tempo Timers are due back at the Cowboy Bar this weekend and playing around town are several live musicians who will keep your toes tapping, too. Also this weekend, there will be offered another sort of evening entertainment. The Upstairs Gallery and Espresso Cafe will host a poetry reading , featuring the work of two local writers. The Cowboy Bar The Tempo Timers return to the Cowboy Bar Thursday through Saturday evenings. The band specializes spe-cializes in rythm and blues and rock and roll dance music. The first set starts at 9:30 p.m. The Down Under Folk music played by Kat James sets the relaxing tone at the Down Under Club. Kat plays Wednesday through Saturday evenings. The Upstairs Gallery and Espresso Cafe The Upstairs Gallery and Espresso Cafe will offer an intellectual alternative to the night music scene this weekend. Local writers Natalie Holder and Alexis Brill (the pen name for a well-known resident) will read selections of their own poetry. The readings will begin at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Grub Steak The contemporary voices of Milligan and Diehl can be heard at the Grub Steak Restaurant Friday and Saturday evening. A Horse of a Different Color The music isn't exactly live, but the deejay definitely is, at A Horse of a Different Color. The records spin Thursday through Saturday evening. Ryan's Thursday evening is local's jam night at Ryan's bar on Main Street. Bring your own instrument or just stop by to listen beginning at 9 p.m. Sneakers Classical guitarist Kelly Wright plays at the Sneakers Club Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Stein Eriksen Lodge The main lobby at Stein Eriksen Lodge resounds with a selection of folk and broadway tunes performed by Kate McCutchan Thursday through Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Kate plays piano, sings and throws in a few of her own compositions, too. |
