Show Santa CI aus in Park City this week If you have been naughty all year there is no use being nice now. Santa Claus is already in town and he is taking down names. "I have connections, you know, and I've heard there have been lots of good boys and girls in Park City this year," Claus told the Park Record. (He tactfully avoided mentioning the adults. ) Claus's busy schedule includes several private audiences and two public appearances in town this week. He met with a group of local youngsters at Park City High School last night and he will be taking personal Christmas requests Saturday evening at the Memorial Building. Claus's visit to the Memorial Building will be preceded by several special activities planned by the Park City Recreation Department. At 4 p.m. youngsters are invited to make their own Christmas ornaments, and at 5 p.m. they will be treated to two Christmas movies. The Park City Chorus will begin caroling at 6 p.m. on the steps of the Memorial Building. While they are ringing in the holiday season Santa Claus is expected to arrive not in his sleigh, which is back at the North Pole getting a final tuneup but in one of Park City's fire trucks. "He will have treats for all the kids," said Joy Rasmussen of the Park City Recreation Department. And for those who won't be able to give Santa their Christmas wish lists in person, Park City's Postmaster Byron Johnson assures us that all mail addressed to the North Pole will be forwarded to Santa and Mrs. Claus immediately. The letters should be addressed to Santa Claus, North Pole and must be handed to a window clerk at the post office, he said. "Don't drop them in the mailbox or they might go to Salt Lake City and not get to the North Pole in time," said Johnson. He added that no postage is necessary. Santa's helpers will pay the bill. |
