Show Wary of fixea smiles Editor: I am very surprised that you printed the article by Teri Gomes (Strike a Vein) Jan. 3rd. We come to Park City every summer and feel it is a very special place. I might add that I have traveled overseas extensively in the past, but prefer Park City! I have subscribed to the paper for three years and this is the first article I've noticed that speaks against tourists. To feel as she does about tourists and shoppers invading her town is one thing' but to put it ' in print is using very poor taste and lack of common sense. Since Park City is a town with tourists as a primary source of income, it is necessary that one have the proper attitude when dealing with visitors. Teri Gomes should not work in any place where she comes into contact with tourists. Nor should she write articles expressing her feelings. Actually her manners are no better than the people she wrote about. We shall continue to come to Park City and enjoy the area and the people we have met, but now I will be wary of anyone with "teeth sticking in a fixed smile." S. Brazy South Bend, Indiana |
