N I " i i ' I" ' I ... to Smithsonian's Mediterranean Odyssey Students at the Treasure Mountain Moun-tain Middle School currently-are enjoying a warm hint of Mediterranean Medi-terranean sunshine. A traveling Smithsonian Institution exhibit of photographs from Italy, Spain, Egypt, Greece and northern Africa has been installed infthe school library. And next week the students will host two open houses in order to share the exhibit with the community. The photographs were selected from a catalog of traveling Smithsonian exhibits by the middle school faculty, said art teacher Andrea Morguloff. "It . was something we felt would relate to a - number of . different subjects," said Morgu loff, who is planning to study mosaics (an art form indigenous to the area) while the exhibit is on display. Students also are studying study-ing topics related to the Mediterranean Mediter-ranean in history and social studies, she said. The Mediterranean Odyssey is on loan to Treasure Mountain Middle School through Feb. 17. The public is invited to tour the exhibit Thursday, Jan. 31 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 1 from l p.m. to 4 p.m. The open houses will be hosted by; the students, who also have helped design promotional j posters and label (he exhibit, said Morguloff. |
