Show Upcoming Recreation Activities All registration for the following programs may be done at the office the recreation department shares with KPCW in the Memorial Building. The recreation officers recommend as early as possibly registration. How to Register It's easy to get involved. Drop by the Recreation Department office at the Memorial Building between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, to register for classes and events. Bring your payment with you. $10 additional fee for residents outside the Park City School District. (No refunds after the first class). Deadlines: June 12 for first session classes; July 17 for second session classes. For more information, call the Recreation Department at 649-9461. Day Camps There will be five separate, two-week sessions beginning June 15. Register by June 8 for the first session or as many as you want. 2 weeks $40 4 weeks $75 6 weeks $110 8 weeks $150 10 weeks $185 Camp Lotsatots - for pre-schoolers Park City pre-school director Susan Wade, along with Parley's Park teacher Sharon Reid, will head this camp full of activities for youngsters 3-5 years old, 9-1:30 p.m., Mon.-Fri., Middle School Cafeteria,. 3-5 years old (must be toilet trained), $30 for Mon, Wed & Fri. only. Camp Eventur - for grades 1-5 Camp Counselors Wndy Tofte and Bruce Shapiro will separate this popular camp into two divisions this yar, 1-3 grades and 4-5 grades. What is an Eventur Land? It is an adventurous and fantastical land. 9-3 p.m., Mon-Fri., City Park Ca'mp Shack, Grades 1-5. Volleyball Camp New this year for high school girls a week of competitive volleyball. Camp director Harold Buckner is a member of the U.S. Women's Olympic Committee and Associate Vice President of the U.S. Volleyball Assoc. He has coached beginners thru to the national level and is responsible for four Ail-Americans. 9-3 p.m. June 22-26, Memorial Building Gym, $20, (limit 20 players). YMCA All Nighter Bus leaves at 9 p.m. and returns the next day at 8 a.m. Salt Lake YMCA facility is all night reserved for Park City only. Plenty of YMCA staff and Park City chaperones on duty. Bus will leave from and return to the Memorial Building. Rock Climbing This year there will be a special five-week session of learning to climb. Begin with bouldering and knotsadvance to climbing, rappeling and belay. Bus takes you to Little Cottonwood Canyon all day. Bring a lunch. Session begins June 19, 9 a.m. -4 p.m., Fridays. Bus leaves from City Park. $60 per session, ages 12-15. Archery Get on target with friendly competition and instruction in target and field archery by Annie Bowman, Recreation Department Program supervisor and former member of the World Archery Center in Roxbury, Vt. The five lessons for $5 could be the best deal of the summer. 2 sessions, 5 Wednesdays each, start June 27 and July 22. Co-ed juniors (12-15 years) 3-5 p. m. Co-ed adults (16 years and over) 6-7 p.m. Gymnastics Beginning: Elementary school age boys and girls with no previous training work on tumbling and balance beam. Two sessions, starting June 16 and July 21. Tuesdays, 2-3 p.m. Memorial Building, $10. Intermediate: Futher instruction for boys and girls who had had some training and can pass basic tumbling moves. Two sessions, starting 16 and July 21. Tuesdays, 3-4 p.m.. Memorial Building $10. Advanced: Experienced boys and girls continue on to aerials, flips and aerial balance beam moves. Two sessions, starting June 16 and July 21. Tuesdays, 5-6 p.m. Memorial Building $10. (Instructor Mike Punda will be available during the second session only, when he returns from the Curt Thomas Gymnastic Camp in Scottsdale, Ariz.) Classes will run Tues. and Thurs. $20.00 Free Play for AH Bring your family or friend for your own favorite sports and games. The Memorial Building game room and gym are open 6-10 p.m. Thursdays, free for your own recreation. Continuing Education Nan McPolin directs the Continuing Education program through the Park City School District. Summer classes begin Tuesday, June 16 and run through July 21. These and other classes can be arranged with minimum registration. Location, days, times and costs will be arranged when the number of students is determined.
