Show ! j Bond Election Forum June 15 j ine Hark CitySummit County League of Women Voters i and KPCW are sponsoring a Citizen's Forum about the bond ! issue election. The forum will be held at the Memorial j Building the night before the election at 7:30 p.m. on June ! 15. This will also be broadcast on KPCW. j A panel of speakers will give information about the ! proposed library, city parks, fieldhouse, and ice arena. Panel I members will be speaking both for and against these issues, j The public is invited and encouraged to attend, i Gtizen Meeting June 9 i Park City Planning Department in conjunction with Gage j Davis Associates, the city's consultant on the Comprehensive Plan Update, has scheduled a citizen's workshop for I Tuesday, June 9, 1981, at 7 p.m. in Marsac School. The meeting will start with a progress report from Gage Davis j Associates outlining the status of their studies. The second j part of the meeting will be designed so that participants will I divide into three groups to discuss in detail one of the three j following subject areas: (1) hillside development; (2) city i services; (3) planning and zoning issues, j The Planning Department heartily encourages all persons ! interested in helping to shape the future of Park City to attend. Building Fee Ordinance Approved j Councifmen approved an ordinance May 28 that places all j building related fees under one municipal law. The ordinance j calls -for slight increases in some of the fees charged developers and incorporates a new water development fee schedule. According to City Manager Arlene Loble it will cost developers more to build in Park City in the future which will mean "development is now paying its own way". The ordinance calls for total building fees of approximately 6 percent of the estimated construction cost of a project. j More Hospital Work Days According to Park City Librarian Judy McMahon there will be volunteer work days at the Miners Hospital for the next few weekends. The effort will be spearheaded by Fire Marshall Herb Johnson who will direct workers while they tear out old plumbing, wiring, walls and ceilings to make way for the retoration and renovation of the historic building this summer. McMahon asserts that if the work is done by volunteers the ultimate cost of the project can be reduced by as much as $30,000. Workers should meet at the Hospital at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday and bring tools like crowbars, saws and hammers. Pick Up Absentee Ballots Kcsidents planning to be out of town for the June 16 municipal bond election should pick up absentee ballots at City Hall or the Public Library. Being out of town is no reason not to make your voice heard in the election. Council Retreat Postponed A retreat scheduled for City Councilmen this week has been postponed until June 12 due to prior commitments of some of the members. The regular Council meeting originally cancelled for this week will take place at the regular time. |
