Show Field Day Plaudits " Dear Editor: , Last Friday, May 29, I had the pleasure of observing and participating in the 1981 Field Day at Parley's Park Elementary School. Principal Rob Freeman deserves a great deal of credit for putting together the event. He arranged to have University students . conduct the Field Day and they did so with tremendous enthusiasm. I was so impressed impres-sed how well everything was organized and with the variety of games? planned. Parley's Park teachers were able to participate in the fun, leaving most of the "work" to the University students. One of Mr. Freeman's goals in holding such a field day, he told me, was to give his teachers new ideas. ..and judging from the picture taking, the note-taking, and the participation, I'm sure his goal was achieved. As parent volunteer coordinator coordi-nator for the elementary school, I have worked closely with Mr. Freeman and his staff all year. In my opinion, the 1981 Field Day was a great end to a very good year. Sue Thomson |
