Show "1 -2-3 Dance" at KAC Saturday The Salt Lake City based "1-2-3 Dance" company will perform their unique dance "A MAZE" at the Kimball Art Center Saturday, June 3, 7:30 p.m. "A MAZE" is a specially choreographed dance featuring huge colorful structures in fanciful shapes and designs that allow the dancers to explore the space between them. An unexpected involvement occurs when the "1-2-3" dancers invite the audience to participate in the experience. In fact, parents are encouraged to bring their children child-ren so that the entire family may participate together. The "1-2-3 Dance" company was formed in the fall of 1977 by three former Utah Repertory Dance Theatre dancers: Kay Clark, Ruth Jean Post, and Linda Smith. The three created "A MAZE" to involve not only the dancers and the audience, but sculptors, architects and designers desig-ners as well, as evidenced by the large, colorful free-form structures structur-es used in the dances. "1-2-3- Dance" has performed at the Utah Women's Conference and the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. This performance is sponsored spon-sored by a grant from the Utah Arts Council and the National Fndowment for the Arts, Washington, Wash-ington, D.C. Ticket prices are: Kimball Art ' Center members $1, children 75 cents, adults $1.50. For information: informa-tion: 649-8882. 1 ' "V XiV "1-2-3 Dance" Company |
