Show Graduates Honored at Baccalaureate Dr. uene Jacobson was guest speaker at Sunday night's Baccalaureate services in multi-purpose room at Park City High School. Dr. Gene Jacobson, an educator educa-tor on the staff of the University of Utah, told Park City High School graduates they should be mindful of the importance of caring for their fellow human beings during Baccalaureate services ser-vices held in the multi-purpose room Sunday night. "Caring involves more than saying, I care," Dr. Jacobson said. "Caring means showing you care by doing." Dr. Jacobson, who was in a Japanese prisoner of war camp for four years and "survived the Bataan Death March, emphasized the need to become involved in care-related activities in the community as well as to develop a sense of awareness of the world's problems. "We must develop a worldwide world-wide perspective becailse we are God's children and that is our responsibility," said Dr. Jacob-son. Jacob-son. The guest speaker shared some of his experiences with the graduates and visitors Sunday which illustrated the need to care " with for peers. "Caring begins in the family," he said. And in school, Dr. Jacobson pointed out, "Our teachers exemplify caring with young students." Before joining the staff at the University of Utah, Dr. Jacobson served as an educator in various capacities. He was an elementary school teacher, a professor at University of California at Davis, an educational consultant, and a superintendent of schools in Saudi Arabia. The Park City High School chorus performed two choral selections at Sunday night's Baccalaureate services: "San-chus" "San-chus" by Franz Schubert and "Ave Verum" by Mozart. John Webster, music instructor at the high school, directed the chorus. Following a brief welcoming address by Superintendent Richard Ri-chard Goodworth, Laurie Chantry gave the innvocation.
